• San Diego Zoo : perhaps the best zoo in the entire world, with a first-rate research department for endangered species and the largest koala population outside australia.
• T. Ray Nanney Endowment at Furman University and Lib Nanney Fund :
  a scholarship honoring a retired chaired professor and founder of the computer science department at furman university, and a fund honoring his wife, long-time secretary of the psychology department at furman.
• Greenville (South Carolina) Literacy Association : a group whose goal is to "eliminate illiteracy in the community by providing reading, writing, speaking, and math instruction (0-8th grade levels) to functionally illiterate adults and to adults wishing to learn English as a Second Language."
• A Child's Haven : a therapeutic center for developmentally delayed and neglected children.
• Australian Koala Foundation : the trustees of the world's dwindling koala population.
• Women's Shelter of Greenville (South Carolina) : a safe place for battered women and their families.
